LPG is a part of alternative fuels intended to take more and more important parts in the energy consumption for the automotive. The number of LPG vehicles is in constant growth (first or second mounting).
Indeed, to run with LPG you aren’t obliged to buy an already equipped new automotive. You can very well install a LPG kit on your current vehicle.
All countries aren’t equal regarding use of LPG vehicles. Italy, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Australia or still South Korea are early, but the increase of prices of the traditional fuels and the ecological awareness are so many arguments in favour of the LPG
LPG remains all over the world one of most cheaper fuels in the purchase.
Of more, this fuel arises partly from the extraction of natural gas fields. Thus less dependent on the fluctuation of the oil barrel price.
Europe decided to establish maximal limits of pollutant fot vehicle in order to reduce the atmospheric pollution bound to road transports. This norms “Euro” fix this limits. They will be more and more severe.
Emissions concerned for the ratification of light vehicles in Europe : NOx (Nitrogen oxides), Particles (only for Diesel), CO (Carbon monoxide), HC (Hydrocarbons no burnted). The combustion of LPG doesn’t produce any particles and limits significantly CO2 emissions and Nox (responsible of respiratory diseases).
LPG is far below all the values currently required an which will have to be applied from 2014 (Euro 6). NOx emissions are 20 to 30 times lower than on diesel, and until 10 times lower than gas emissions. A gas vehicle transformed in LPG, reduce by 12% CO2 emissions and by 68% NOx emissions of the engine.

- A LPG vehicle benefits from a green pastille, which allows to circulation even during the days when the limitation of traffic is imposed (in the case of pollution in a lot of cities)
- Combustion of LPG fuel doesn’t leave scale : the engine doesn’t get dirty, to the advantage of the longevity of the mechanics
- Driving comfort is improved thanks to the flexibility of the engine and the decrease of noice
